About Uncle Eugene - Eugene's passion & commitment to country is evident from the first moment you hear his speak. Deeply in tune with the wildlife & plants of native Australia he provides extensive education into the connection between the two. ! For decades Eugene has walked the boundaries of his country, including travels to where his ancestors once gathered. He is constantly learning from the past and bringing this knowledge into the future and sharing this wisdom to ensure it remains for generations to come.

Eugene grows and amazing world of beauty around himself, running his own unique Aboriginal Australian Bush Nursery, Consultancy, Floristry service with his focus on the connection between the creatures, culture and a healthy bush forest.

His personal life-long regeneration project at his black snake property in the mountain near Kilkivan (bordering Bunya Mountain Hinterlands, Cooloola & Sushine Coast regions) . His lifestyle, property & residence is currently under threat by mining & Sustainable Power Industry development interests - the land where his grandmother & his mother grew up. Please note there will be filming on the day. Eugene wishes to share his traditional bush knowledge and a love of country with people who have the same passion for regenerating our land we all call our home!

Serpentine Ridge is a unique property located at Widgee (only 35 minds from Gympie) surrounded by mountains made of Serpentine rock. Thousands of ancient grass trees are thriving amongst this serpent patterned stone. You know when you are nearly at Serpentine Ridge, native Palm Trees start to appear on the journey & tlhere is something different that you feel.....Serpentine - Spiritual Divine, vibrational energy coming from being around this stone can be palpably felt & has amazing spiritual growth & healing qualities, some things are better experienced than described as you will find out ...

Bunya tree Planting, ancient & delicious, a symbol of Cultural resilience here at Serpentine Ridge we honor and respect the "Buny Bunyi" within Aboriginal Culture is a sacred tree. The Bunya nuts (traditionally gathered by men) were used to trade for food, information, new knowledge, and even for arranging marriages & resolving issues of Law. We are creating a "Bunya Trail" each tree lovingly planted on our days of getting together for gathering & celebration. come & be part of this beautiful process, you can come & visit the growing tree you planted & continue to in future events & future visits to the property.....

Your Hosts Marc & Milly - Milly has been a custodian of Serpentine Ridge for over 33 years, is deeply inspired by living so close to nature & draws from its beauty & energy to create her art which is truly from the heart (you may have participated in one of her Creative Gatherings days?) . Her original vision has grown from having people visit the land, come camping to reignite this connection & to their playful wonderous childlike creative side with art.....is now joined by partner Marc Bright who passionately brings a vast experience to share... He's proudly walked with Uncle Eugene for over 25 years sharing these understandings of connectivity to culture through this connection. Marc has played a big role in revegetating many areas within the Cooloola & Sunshine Coast region & over the years has been involved in wildlife rescue. He shares his understanding of culture & connection to educate & inspire .... many young & old may have experienced Marc's unique way of having fun & learning with his JoyologyNow Rainbow Shows at many community events & festivals & Conscious Cartooning murals & homeschoolers education workbook journals on connecting to the land & learning something good in a fun way.

Together Marc & Milly make a great team & share their wisdom & love for country & playful in their connection with community. They have created together this beautiful Serpentine Ridge Welcoming Center for community to come together for a brief moment in time & take home from their experiences & knowledge to their own places where they live to find and even greater connection.

Bush Mountain Trust is a not-for-profit social enterprise with a vision to help people find their joy & connection to country in developing their own deep connection to self & an authentic passion for the land. The trust runs events, projects & educational programs sharing knowledge of native floristry, bush foods & connection to country event & projects for people to have joyful & enriching experiences sharing their own journey of discovery together.

Monies raised from these events go towards funding short film projects "Living Stories" a collaboration between Uncle Eugene Earth Heroes, Serpentine Ridge Living Stories Creative Team, in unison raising awareness for caring for country, our responsibility to the land & future generations so our children & children's children can enjoy a wonderful relationship with the land that nourishes & nurtures each in return.
